Conviction in Colorado for any "Crime of Violence" (COV) carries a mandatory prison sentence to the Department of Corrections.
Any of the following crimes where someone used, or possessed and threatened the use of, a deadly weapon; or caused serious bodily injury or death to any other person except another participant:

• Assault in the First Degree
• Assault in the Second Degree
• Aggravated Robbery
• 1st degree burglary
• kidnapping
• Sexual Assault
• Murder
• 1st degree Arson
